A First of Its Kind
Brand new to the US, this revolutionary machine offers the benefits of both a laser and micro-needling in one action without using needles or lasers. Virtually no social downtime after a treatment and can be used directly on and around the eyelids.
Introducing the Sentient Tixel
The Tixel is based on an Israeli invention and engineering. It is made by a German company called Novoxel GmbH, and is a novel device used for fractional skin rejuvenation which is based on the principles of Thermo-Mechanical Ablation (TMA) technology.
Instead of a Laser
The Tixel can be used for the same cosmetic treatment applications that devices such as ablative and fractionated CO2 or Er:YAG lasers, radio frequency or high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) are most commonly employed. This means that it can be used to improve fine lines and wrinkles, skin discoloration, sun damaged skin, skin tone and texture, as well as reduce age or pigmented spots (melasma), and acne scarring.
Because the Tixel is not a laser, it works on all skin types equally and no eye protection is required. The treatment can be performed directly on and around the eyelids.
Instead of Microneedling
The Tixel has an ablative mode to create deep or shallow micro-channels of controlled damage to the skin to stimulate collagen production and aid rejuvenation, as well as a non-ablative mode which heats within the upper dermis of the skin, while protecting the outer layer, to create permeable channels which can be used to assist in the transfer of topical serums and agents into the skin. It can therefore operate in three modes – ablative, non-ablative and open channel. Because the titanium plate has a temperature of 400C, it is always operating in sterile mode, and can therefore (unlike micro-needling) be used directly on active acne.
Quick Facts
-
The Tixel treatment involves the application of a heated (400 degrees celsius) metallic plate with 81 micro pyramid-shaped spikes to the skin.
-
It vaporizes channels in the skin to stimulate new collagen to reduce concerns such as wrinkles, skin laxity (especially around the eyes), scarring on the face and even stretch marks.
-
The channels formed in the skin can also be used to infuse products into the skin, for example, growth factors, hyaluronic acid, peptides, vitamins or skin lightening agents.
-
The Tixel produces similar injuries and results to fractional CO2 lasers and micro-needling. However, the Tixel has virtually no downtime.
